Free advice: no matter how "caring" the dentist is. I assume it's a scam due to the terrible grammar, but either way, if you mis-spell "veneer," I am not letting you anywhere near my mouth

In my opinion, if you paid that much they should have been made to fit you perfectly!...I think you should ask for modifications or your money back!!!
NO I dont feel u r being unrealistic!!!....

I recently got a full set of upper dentures with no dental insurance. the cost was upwards of 4000.00... and maybe my expectations were a little bit to high but I hate them! They stick out to much and is to long. Would I be rude to ask for modifications or not? I mean it's been a year without any upper teeth and I prefer to go toothless!! That can't be right!! I can't afford implants, I'm a stay at home mom with a special needs child, and we're not covered on my boyfriends plan. Can I get my money back? I doubt it but I had to vent a little. Am I being unrealistic?

Hello

See if you can find a free dental clinic here and perhaps a free medical clinic to help you too.

I had a root canal on a tooth a while back but could not afford the crown. I now have another cavity in the same tooth! It may be too late for a crown now. It may have to be pulled :( I need help fast. Very fast. The local dentist told me a crown would cost me $900 dollars. I am never going to be able to afford that. Please help?

Hi TS,

Thanks so much for getting back with me and letting me know how things are turning out for you!  If you applied with NFDH, You will hear from them.  I am in contact with a woman named Sue.  She has really worked hard for me.  My problem is I live in a very small town in the boonies.  So it is hard finding good dental care close enough.

I have had surgery on my bottom jaw.  A bone graft.  I don't have enough  bone to fit dentures or implants in the upper right side of jaw.  It is too close to sinuses and they placed a graft there too.

I have developed malnutrition from not being able to eat properly, and have the proper enzyme, digestive, saliva ratio.  Who would have known?

I am so glad that you have things in perspective, and know that you work with what you have for now.  LATER, we can always upgrade when we can! :)  It is so rewarding knowing when you help someone, even if it is just verbal!

Please keep in touch and let us know how progress goes.

Your a very positive person!

Sandav1,

Thanks for the information.  I am sorry it took me so long to respond.  I forgot I had posted a request until I received an email on today advising that I had unread messages.  I have contacted the foundation you suggested and hope to hear from them soon.  I have also contacted Affordable Dentures near my home and will probably use their services as the cost for their premium dentures is doable for me within the next few months.  I will do the lower denture implants as soon as my home business gets off the ground.

I had to have my lower jaw implants were  surgically removed in 2005 after they started to uproot from my gums.  I had had them for approximately (24) years.  I learned that implants don't last forever! I can't recall the name that describes the procedure had, but the implants cost me $8,000.00.  The procedure is no longer done. As a result of my surgery, I have a loss of feeling in my lower lip and jaw.  It feels as though I'm being pricked by needles.   I am optimistic as I am involved in a home business that has the promise to change my financial outlook.  Let me know how you are doing.  Good luck on your quest to haave implants done.  Dentures are horrible!

Thanks Sunshine.  I located an affordable dentist office near my home.  It is a viable option.  I have decided to get new and improved deentures first and then upgrade to the denture implants when my home business picks up.

God Bless,

Deonne

Hello

You might want to see if this is in your area but there is a low cost to it as sheshe030 used them for dentures.

and see if remote area medical will be in your area too.

Hope this helps you some

Hi TS,

I am going through the same thing!  That is how I found this site myself.  There is the National Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped. Or NFDH as they are referred to.  Go to www.nfdh.org.  Also if you go to www.fccv.net  , it will take you to what is available in your area.  They have a lot of different qualifying programs it appears.  Try those, and if you just need someone to talk about our implant problems, I would be most interested in finding out more of why you have to have implants removed?

I have been dealing with blood infection from how long it has taken me to get anything done.  I have an apptmt this thurs. just for a look n see if this dentist can help.

Good luck hon, let me know if you need some more places to look.  Implants are hard to get help with.  The other option you can try is contact the Dental College closest to you and they usually will take cases like ours.

Good Luck and you will be in my prayers,

~~~Sandav1
I am a (67) year old female who is on social security.  I only receive $991.00 per month and amon Medicare.  I have had all of my teeth extracted.  I had rear jaw implants that had to be removed.  This work was done in 2005 when I was employed.  I also had bone grafting in prep for lower implants.  As I lost my job, I have not been able to even purchase a full set of dentures, neverthe less, lower implants.  I live near Lynchburg, VA and am seeking assistance with (upper) dentures and and implants, (lower),  or at the very least, a full set of quality dentures.  The temporary de3ntures I am currently wearing after (5) years are painful and have twisted my mouth.  I look (15) years older.
